The 2021 German Development Economics Conference (GDE) took place on 17-18 June 2021 and was hosted by the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and the Helmut-Schmidt-Universität (HSU) Hamburg. Due to the COVID pandemic the event was held fully virtual.
